The numbers behind the quiz

Champions League team fit matrix

Compare 18 teams by what new viewers may care about. These scores do not predict who will win.

How to use it

No column is a grade.

Very high is not better than very low. Famous players offer an easy way in; unfamiliar players make the club feel like your discovery. High stakes bring pressure. Lower stakes bring freedom.

Pick three teams with different profiles. You will learn more than you would from three famous clubs with similar scores.

  • Star pullHow easily familiar players and names give you a way in.
  • ChaosHow often speed, momentum swings and surprises shape the match.
  • Underdog appealHow much discovery and upset potential drive the fun.
  • Tactical interestHow much the team rewards attention to shape, movement and repeated patterns.
  • StakesHow much pressure follows the club into each Champions League match.

How we scored it

The same five questions for every club.

This table uses the quiz’s five measures. We rate every team from 1–5, translate the scores into plain labels and compare them with your answers. The quiz also avoids three nearly identical clubs.

Ratings change with squads, managers and the competition. We date our checks and treat the scores as judgments, not facts.
